Surf Direct expands on basic knowledge and develops skills already attained in a fun, intuitive way. As modules are studied on the CD ROM tests and challenges become available to test your new skills. Surf Direct introduces you to the different parts of your computer and explains how they can benefit you.
The course continues to inform students about software packages including Windows operating systems. Students will also learn about browsing the internet and e-mailing, for use at home and in a professional environment.
Using Your Computer (IT for Life)
This course expands on basic skills learnt previously. This course is suitable for students with a level of knowledge beyond basic who would like to gain more confidence in using computers.
The course begins with some of the basics to refresh your knowledge and increase your confidence. Students will then move onto learning about computer security and backing up data as well as learning other fun items such as how to personalise your desktop and icons.
The course is divided into modules which can be printed and kept for future reference. At the end of the course students will attempt a final assessment which puts all their new skills into practice.
