There are generally two areas of work on surveys there are the surveys you can fill out yourself for different companies or you could work trying to get other people to fill out a survey for the company.
There is a certain process that should be followed when writing the questions out for or filling out a survey some of these different things include;
How to create a survey?
When you are planning how to a survey there are several points you should take into consideration firstly who is the target audience of the survey and most importantly what are you hoping to gain from the survey. You also need to think about whether you want there to be set answers to the questions or whether you require more detailed answers. A factor effecting your decision on this could be the amount of time it will take people to answer your survey as you don't want people being stuck for a long period of time answering your survey. So when writing it out you need not only think about the information you want to gain from it but also the amount of time and how easy it will actually be to answer these different questions.
When you have the actual questions planned and written out you then need to consider how you will record the results of your survey. If you are recording yes and no answered questions then it is usually the easiest to draw up a tally chart, if the answers are more detailed then you may need to consider different methods of recording the out come. When revising the results you need to consider how accurate they are and you can do this by firstly looking at the number of people that 
filled in the survey, you should have a figure such as 50 or 100 as the guide and any numbers over that amount can then act to make the results more accurate.
Filling out surveys as a career
As well as people being asked in the street or surveys being posted through your door there are now people that are paid to fill out surveys as their job. These companies are mainly based online and if you sign up with several online survey companies it is possible for you to make money from just filling out surveys, however, if you were to just stay with one company they can not always guarantee you constant work. This is why many people doing this as a career take out contracts with several different companies to widen their chances of making a living out of the work.
